Often stress is poorly mislabeled and understood, many people shrugging it off as just being related to some work and relationship stress. This is sadly not true. Unfortunately because most of us are trapped and only live in our minds, we miss and don't acknowledge the feedback our bodies are giving us when stressed. So let me help you understand what stress actually is.
- Physical stress comes in the form of
- dehydration
- excess caffeination and use of soft drinks
- alcohol and cigarette use
- poor diet with little vegetables or fruit, excess fat and sugar
- skipping meals
- eating to late into the night/ binge eating
- inactivity and being sedentary and sitting down for more than 30 minutes at a times
- poor sleep- going to bed too late, not getting enough sleep, getting interrupted and poor sleep
- excess blue light exposure coming from your computer, TV, Phone and add here the radiation these devices also emit
- not getting enough sunlight and being outdoors
- excess heat or cold exposure (depends on how this is done)
- nutrient deficiencies and poor digestion/ imbalanced hormones
2. Chemical Stress comes in form of
- chemical and toxins- these are unfortunately everywhere- water, air, food, personal care products, cleaning products, furniture, plastics and soo much more
3. Mental stress
- demanding fast paced job with lots of deadlines and long work hours
- studying for exams
- self limiting believes, values, thought and behavioural pattern
4. Emotional Stress
- inner conflict with self- I am not good enough, always looking out to overcompensate to lack perceived etc
- conflict in relationships- friends, partner
- self limiting believes, values, thought and behavioural pattern
As you can see stress is a little more involved than what commonly acknowledged. And please know that if not addressed and deal with addressing all levels it it perpetuate and create disease and misery ... it is just a matter of time as everything accumulates and builds in time.
