Eating disorder dietitian and Psychotherapist Melbourne

Eating disorders are complex and deeply personal challenges that often go beyond food-related issues and I understand how hard it is to work your way through what sometimes feels like a losing battle. However there is hope for your recovery if you are ready to address the deeper seated issues beyond your disorder.

I specialise in supporting individuals with eating disorders by taking a holistic lifestyle approach, focused on helping you reconnect to yourself by addressing the whole person—body, mind, emotions, and energy. This blends modalities like nutrition, somatic, sound and talk therapy and lifestyle modification.

This method helps uncover and heal the root causes of disordered eating, which are often linked to emotional or psychological factors rather than food itself. My goal is to guide you through a compassionate and effective recovery journey, restoring balance to your life and empowering you to achieve a deep connection to yourself and lasting health and well-being.

How does an eating disorder Consultation Work

  1. Initial Assessment: The initial assessment focuses on uncovering the emotional, cognitive, social, lifestyle and environmental factors impact your health and well-being. By delving into the core of your challenges, this helps us create personalised recommendations that nourish your body, mind and soul and a flexible strategy for future sessions. Expect leaving feeling understood, clear and empowered knowing you will be supported each and every step of the way.
  2. Ongoing sessions. Depending on your current presentation and requirements each session will seek to educate, support and allow you to process and integrate the barriers that have stoped you from feeling conformable in your own skin. strategies can include talk, sound or somatic therapy meaning sometimes we will talk, sometimes we will let the body talk and feel the sensations without and other times we will let sound guide and heal. As everyone is different you will receive what your unique organism requires.

What my eating disorder clients feel

I had a very positive experience seeing Anca. I learnt a great deal about my body and mind through a number of methods. My gut health improved greatly, and my attitude towards eating changed. I use her relaxation methods to help me sleep and take time for me when stress starts to increase. Not a day goes by that I don't think about what Anca taught me. Her knowledge and wisdom astounds me. Thank you.

Lisa

From day ONE Anca amazed me with her knowledge, passion and genuine care to help me reach my goals. This incredibly intelligent woman provides more than just a meal plan. She has provided me with education, counselling, referrals to top quality professionals, high quality supplements and products, a shoulder to cry on and the bare truth when I needed to hear it. She has shown me just how important nutrition is for every aspect of my well being and how resilient the human body can be once equipped with the right tools. If you are scrolling through reviews looking to make not only a change, but the right changes, Anca is the person you are looking for.

Lacey

Anca is amazing! She has a genuine interest in what you want to achieve and has a non-judgmental approach when she works with you. She has plenty of new ideas and a fresh perspective of how to live well. She really gets you thinking to challenge your assumptions on what works for you. I'd highly recommend having a session with Anca.

What causes binge eating disorder

Binge eating disorder is a complex mental health condition that goes beyond just food. It is often driven by a combination of emotional, psychological, hormonal and environmental factors.
