Holistic Dietitian & Nutritionist in Melbourne

As an integrative & holistic dietitian I take a full-body approach to your diet and consider all the factors that have a direct impact on your nutrition and health.

Nutrition is a key aspect of optimal health and wellbeing that is unfortunately overlooked by many Australians due to lack of time, miseducation, stress and feeling disconnected. Your body needs to receive daily nutrients to repair, grow and to generate the energy needed for optimal function. Without these nutrients your cellular function can decline so you age faster, feel tired, fatigued, unmotivated, sore and inflamed and unable to sleep properly.

Working with the whole body and lifestyle is key to lasting health, vitality and quality of life. If you struggle and need help with any of the below concerns please book a nutritionist and dietitian consultation to start building a lifestyle that helps you heal and keeps you at your peak everyday.

How Dietitian Consultations Work

Initial Nutrition Consultation – Holistic Assessment
Your first consultation with our Melbourne dietitian focuses on identifying the lifestyle, dietary, and environmental factors impacting your health and overall wellbeing. By uncovering the root causes behind your symptoms or health concerns, we create a strong foundation for your personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan. This in-depth assessment allows us to tailor your care to suit your unique body, goals, and needs — whether you’re managing a chronic condition, supporting weight loss, or improving gut health.

Personalised Meal Plan and Strategy
Following your assessment, we develop a customised nutrition plan aligned with your health goals and daily lifestyle. You'll learn how to make informed food choices, understand ideal meal timing, and explore effective food combinations to support digestion, energy, and long-term health. Together, we create a realistic and flexible plan that supports sustainable change, not short-term fixes.

Ongoing Support, Education, and Progress Tracking
True transformation takes time. Through regular follow-ups, we assess your progress, adjust your strategies, and offer personalised education to keep you motivated and informed. You’ll receive expert coaching, mindset support, and practical tools to help you stay consistent and confident on your health journey.

What my Dietitian clients feel

I had a very positive experience seeing Anca. I learnt a great deal about my body and mind through a number of methods. My gut health improved greatly, and my attitude towards eating changed. I use her relaxation methods to help me sleep and take time for me when stress starts to increase. Not a day goes by that I don't think about what Anca taught me. Her knowledge and wisdom astounds me. Thank you.

Lisa

From day ONE Anca amazed me with her knowledge, passion and genuine care to help me reach my goals. This incredibly intelligent woman provides more than just a meal plan. She has provided me with education, counselling, referrals to top quality professionals, high quality supplements and products, a shoulder to cry on and the bare truth when I needed to hear it. She has shown me just how important nutrition is for every aspect of my well being and how resilient the human body can be once equipped with the right tools. If you are scrolling through reviews looking to make not only a change, but the right changes, Anca is the person you are looking for.

Lacey

Anca is amazing! She has a genuine interest in what you want to achieve and has a non-judgmental approach when she works with you. She has plenty of new ideas and a fresh perspective of how to live well. She really gets you thinking to challenge your assumptions on what works for you. I'd highly recommend having a session with Anca.

What is an integrative Dietitian

  • What does a dietitian do and how can they help me?

A dietitian is a qualified health professional trained to assess nutritional needs and develop personalised plans to improve your health through food and lifestyle changes. Whether you are looking for help with weight loss, hormonal balance, gut health or managing a medical condition, a dietitian provides expert support that is backed by science. As an accredited dietitian in Melbourne, I combine evidence-based nutrition with a holistic and personalised approach.

  • Dietitian vs Nutritionist: What's the difference and which is better?

Dietitians are better as they undergo 5 years of specialised university training to become accredited practicing dietitians. Whilst at university, dietitians train and specialise in all things nutrition and chronic disease management.

A nutritionist is a professional specialising in the study nutrition and the relationship between diet and health. They can help people develop healthy eating habits and manage various health conditions through diet, however they are limited in their ability to help with disease management like a dietitian can.

Read more about the difference between a dietitian and nutritionist.

  • Do dietitians give you meal plans?

Many dietitians will develop customised nutrition and meal plans for each client.

Dietitians not only create meal plans for their clients, but they also provide education and knowledge on how to make appropriate food choices in any situation so that you can stick to your nutritional or health goals.

Meal plans can also be developed to combat autoimmune and gut health issues.

  • What foods do dietitians recommend?

Every single person will have a different food list or meal plan depending on their health goals and food sensitivities - BUT there will always be similar suggestions for most clients such as avoiding sugar, processed foods, wheat and gluten, to increase water intake and stick to whole foods.

When recommending food types and creating meal plans, it's important that your dietitian creates this personalised to you and your dietary requirements.

  • How can I book an appointment with a dietitian in Melbourne?

You can easily book online through my website www.ancavereen.com or contact me directly. I offer in-person consultations in Melbourne as well as online appointments Australia-wide.

  • How much is the Medicare Rebate?

Through a GP appointment you are eligible for a Medicare rebate of $58 for your first 5 sessions .

  • Do I need a referral to see a dietitian in Australia?

No, you do not need a referral to see a dietitian. However, if you have a GP referral under a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates. Private health insurance may also provide cover.

  • Can you help with emotional eating or cravings?

Yes. I combine nutrition therapy with somatic and emotional support to address the deeper causes of emotional eating, stress, fatigue and cravings. Together, we work on rewiring habits, improving body awareness and creating a more nourishing relationship with food, this way eliminating cravings.
